The history of the United States of America is filled with memorable people, events and icons that have become part of the fabric of the country. Despite the fact that the country is only over two hundred years old, which is substantially less than many other countries, it is filled with symbols of patriotism. Mentioning the flag, the Bald Eagle and Uncle Sam fill people with patriotic feeling and pride. There are several icons which are patriotic symbols of the United States of America.
