We attended a '60s party and this was the perfect item for my husband (he didn't want to wear a full costume). He wore the vest over a long-sleeve t-shirt and added a peace sign necklace. Everyone commented on how great he looked. Another bonus: the vest is not expensive, for those who don't want to spend a lot of $$ on costumes.
