I bought the XL. Too small does not describe this. My sister is a size 8 and the waist of the peplum top would not meet. I have no "chest" and the top was so tight across my lack-of-"Chest" that the velcro kept popping open. What a huge disappointment! Unless you are a size 0 or less, do not count on even the XL fitting you.

This costume was selected because we were doing a tea party for a lady in our book club that was having a birthday. We chose the date 1774 because the ladies of Edenton, N.C. had had a tea party that made headlines as they were the first women to speak out on the taxation from England. The costume looked exactley like the picture but the top was way too undersized. I thought by ordering an XLge that would make up for the other comments made on the top as being small. It was still way too small but had enough fabric that my sewing friend could fix it to fit. Other than that, it was a wonderful, fun costume.

Really loved the costume. I was a little disappointed, because I am normally a size 12 or medium to large top. I ordered a large, and I couldn't keep the top closed. It kept popping open. [...] Luckily, I had a friend that sews, and she opened up the hem in front and added 1 1/2 inches to the bust.
