My nine year old used this costume for a report he had to give at school. He was so cute, at first he didn't want to wear the wig. But after seeing a little boy from another class (he didn't have the wig)he decided he would b eone up if he wore the wig. So he did and he was a hit. He had to come to school dressed in his uniform. I dropped him off and everyone was looking at him he was so cute. The only drawback was the outfit faded all over his white tightes. Didn't come out when it was washed either. Other than that he was great.
I would recommed a little elastic strap around the hat if you have the time to do that. Also, your child should have black dress shoes to wear with the is cosutme. Tennis shoes do not look good with the shoe/buckle covers.
