People of all ages are smurfing out again! Just two years after the summer blockbuster hit theaters, the newest installment to the franchise is set to premiere July 31, 2013.

Gargamel is at it again.  In the second movie of this trioloy, the evil Gargamel plans to harness the Smurf’s essence to turn the Eiffel Tower into an energy-generating antenna in hopes that it will help him to finally return home.  The only one with the spell to foil his plan is Smurfette so naturally, he kidnaps her and creates Smurf-like creatures, the Naughties, to convince Smurfette to rebel against her village.

In order to save sweet Smurfette from being swayed to the dark side, the rest of the village turns to Patrick Winslow for help again.  Neil Patrick Harris isn’t the only familiar face (or voice).  Hank Azaria, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, Katy Perry, George Lopez, Alan Cumming and more are back to reprise their roles.  Christina Ricci and J.B. Smoove lend their voices in this film as the evil Naughties.  It’s a star-packed film that’s bound to break records in the box office this summer.  Just look at the trailer!

They may only be three apples high, but these Smurfs are larger than life in 3D.  It’s safe to say that the Smurfs and their human friends will stop Gargamel from carrying out his evil plan.  It’s also safe to expect a million more puns and creative uses of the word “smurf”.

These may not be the classic Smurfs you remember from the original cartoons, but with the latest integration of animation and live-action, parents and children are sure to bond over this summer, family blockbuster!

Your Smurf experience doesn’t have to end after the credits roll.  You and your kids can have your own Smurf adventures with Smurf costumes of your own.  These costumes are great to wear to the movie’s premiere or for some imaginative dress up.

There’s even Vexy and Hackus!  Even if your kids aren’t like the Naughties, it’s so much fun to pretend.
